Mutual Marine has been serving commercial fishermen in British Columbia since 1945 when a group of fishing vessel owners petitioned the Provincial Government to allow the formation of a marine insurance mutual.

Mutual Marine is a true membership driven mutual where members have ownership in the organization and a direct connection to its governance.

The company is overseen by an elected Board of Directors - all commercial fishermen themselves.
